Metris gave Arc Renewables, an independent renewable energy consultancy and asset manager, a single system of record for a national logistics group's rooftop solar estate, resolving the connectivity behind it and establishing a clean data baseline so the owner can see every site in one place.

The Brief:

Build a single source of truth

Arc Renewables' client operates rooftop solar across a national estate of distribution and logistics sites, built out over several years and across several operating businesses. Each tranche had been installed with whichever inverter manufacturer suited the project at the time, so the portfolio ran on a mix of platforms, each with its own manufacturer portal, login and way of presenting data.

The result was that no one could see the whole estate in one place. Some systems had been disconnected or switched off for periods, so the earlier data was patchy and inconsistent. Arc needed a platform that could give its client a single, transparent view of generation across every site, a reliable basis for reporting, and a support structure that worked across the partners involved rather than around each manufacturer in turn. Arc brought that brief to Metris.

Metris brought all twenty sites onto a single monitoring platform, working across the mixed inverter estate so that Arc and its client see one consistent view rather than several manufacturer systems. Sites were renamed and tagged to a single clear convention so each one is identifiable at a glance and the portfolio reads as one estate, with the ability to filter easily.

Onboarding Support: through Metris’ AI assisted onboarding and weekly implementation check ins, Arc’s portfolio was onboarded & configured in a matter of weeks. 

Fleet consolidation: Brought twenty rooftop solar sites onto a single monitoring platform, working across a mixed inverter estate.

Connectivity resolved: Worked through the connectivity behind each site, including SIM and guest-access arrangements and plant migration with manufacturer support, so sites report reliably rather than intermittently.

The owner now has one transparent view of its rooftop solar estate on Metris, with every site on the same platform, named the same way, and reporting against a baseline that can be trusted. Performance can be compared like for like across sites, underperformance shows up where before it was hidden between systems, and the figures support reporting rather than needing to be caveated.

Because the platform and the support structure are set up to take on more, the same approach extends cleanly as further sites are added.
